Bugzilla – Bug 119856
Misleading error message when this is a "noyou" product
Last modified: 2006-06-13 11:10:41 UTC
Starting YOU I get the mesage that it cannot get the list of remote update servers. 'Details' show 'URL: www.suse.de<br>'. Most likely the <br> is superfluous here?
Can you please attach /var/log/YaST2? (http://www.opensuse.org/Bug_Reporting_FAQ#YaST) Do you have any specials in your network setup?
Created attachment 51377 [details] Yast2 log files Attached the Yast2 log files. There is nothing special about the network set-up: The affected machine 'tamagata' is configured to set up the (only) network card by DHCP. The DHCP server 'akira' is also name server and default router and connected to the internet. Routing etc. works correctly, as it is possible to ping www.suse.de and also 'lynx www.suse.de' works as expected. Only YOU does not find the server list.
Thanks for your input, but please remember to set the status back from NEEDINFO to ACCEPTED, else the bug might stay some in the queue unnecessarily. I must find out if this is only a strange effect or happens for everybody. Until I sorted the latter one out, I regard it critical.
Jürgen, the real problem is simply that we don't supply updates for alpha releases. But we will improve the message.
Klaus? Can I close this?
I guess so.
resolved - wontfix
