Bugzilla – Bug 119914
Missing ghostscript-mini
Last modified: 2007-01-26 12:19:12 UTC
Trying rpmbuild for some packages (like gstreamer-plugins), it fails on missing ghostscript-mini, which is not on media. It should be fixed either by adding it to media or in Autobuild by replacing ghostscript-mini in BuildRequires by something, which is present on media.
ghostscript-mini is an INTERNAL package only to speed up the build cycle times. It is rather useless on any media bvecause it is not usable due missing printer devices. The bug is simply the choise of ghostscript-mini in the BuildRequires ... therefoe reassign to gnome-maintainers.
werner: is it ok if we remove the INTERNAL setting from ghostscript-mini and ship it as part of the ftp version ?
It is OK as long as we state that nobdy can print with ghostscript-mini because this package is used as small replacment for the real ghostscript-library to fullfil the BuildRequires _only_. Any bug report about ghostscript-mini will be ignored be me.
Maybe better would be following solution: - All ghostcript packages will contain a virtual symbol, for example: Provides: ghostscript Autobuild will replace ghostscript-mini by ghostscript while creating BuildRequires from neededforbuild. It will make rpmbuild happy and you can keep ghostscript-mini as internal.
Re-assigning to rudi because its really a build system issue.
Micha: maybe we have an idea for this sometime ... decreasing to "normal"
