Bugzilla – Bug 1199650
VUL-0: CVE-2022-21166, CVE-2022-21127, CVE-2022-21123, CVE-2022-21125, CVE-2022-21180: kernel: stale MMIO data transient information leaks (INTEL-TA-00615)
Last modified: 2023-03-03 13:02:20 UTC
DRPW (Data Register Partial Write): CVE-2022-21166 Update to Special Register Buffer Data Sampling: CVE-2022-21127 (for RDSAND, RDSEED, SGX EGET KEY) (microcode onlyfix) Shared Buffer Data Read: CVE-2022-21123 Shared Buffer Data Sampling: CVE-2022-21125 Undefined MMIO Hang: CVE-2022-21180
Note that the KVM specific patch is much simpler for the SLE12-SP3-TD branch, as that branch is lacking emulation of MSR_IA32_ARCH_CAPABILITIES. The only part which will be still needed is handling of the FB_CLEAR stuff based on the host capabilities (there is no way the guest can influence this handling without MSR emulation).
this went out early: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/developer/articles/technical/software-security-guidance/advisory-guidance/undefined-mmio-hang.html
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/developer/articles/technical/software-security-guidance/technical-documentation/processor-mmio-stale-data-vulnerabilities.html also public
issue is public.
