smb3 client cannot reconnect to servers after resume from suspend
Last modified: 2023-01-18 17:46:29 UTC
After resuming from suspend, smb3 client fails to reconnect to servers that was mounted before suspend. Steps to reproduce: 1. Mount a directory with SMB3 (using mount.smb3) 2. Suspend the client 3. Resume the client 4. On the client, applications cannot access the mounted directory, and dmesg show the following messages: [ 9183.019484] CIFS: VFS: cifs_tree_connect: could not find superblock: -22 [ 9183.019517] CIFS: VFS: cifs_tree_connect: could not find superblock: -22 [ 9183.825665] CIFS: VFS: cifs_tree_connect: could not find superblock: -22 [ 9184.107147] CIFS: VFS: cifs_tree_connect: could not find superblock: -22 %uname -rvop 5.14.21-150400.22-default #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Wed May 11 06:57:18 UTC 2022 (49db222) x86_64 GNU/Linux This problem has been already resolved in the upstream. https://lore.kernel.org/all/20220605225426.8558-1-pc@cjr.nz/
