Description Michael Stather 2005-10-04 22:46:15 UTC
There are 2 independant DPMS settings which overlap each other. The global DPMS
setting in the KDE control center is enabled by default, which doesn´t care
about power schemes. But there´s kpowersave too which has scheme-independant
settings. IMO the KDE default should be disabled and kpowersave should control
DPMS (since it´s installed by default).
Comment 1 Stephan Kulow 2005-10-05 10:49:39 UTC
this caught myself too - I think kpowersave needs to hook something into KDE,
that even if it's not running, something will set DPMS. Then we can remove the
energy module
Comment 2 Thomas Renninger 2005-10-05 10:53:48 UTC
Danny, can you discuss and implement that with coolo?

AFAIK Danny already added a config in kpowersave to overwrite or not KDE
setttings to lower confusion, but moving to one solution is probably best.
Comment 3 Michael Stather 2005-10-05 14:59:11 UTC
Why should kpwersave not run. It is installed end run even on a desktop computer
so IMHO it could be seen as part of the KDE system
Comment 4 Danny Al-Gaaf 2005-10-06 13:06:00 UTC
I discuss this next week with coolo.

I take a look at this after 10.1/SLES10
