I tried

{ pkcon local-install $p.rpm; }

failed to adopt

{ systemctl --user status plasma-polkit-agent.service; }

polkit-agent-helper-1[10475]: gkr-pam: unable to locate daemon control file

Thanks for the reporting. I wonder if this is a plain message or an error message. Can you please explain more about "failed to adopt" - with the mentioned message, did the pkcon actually work (install the local package) or it does not work at all?
