Description Felix Miata 2023-04-18 16:20:14 UTC
Original Summary:
all bugmail attributable to, or respecting, opensuse.org products or components should either contain opensuse.org URIs instead of suse.com, or in addition to

Problem:
Until the recent Bugzilla upgrade, all bugmail resulting from comments I made on bugzilla.opensuse.org had been containing https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/ reference URIs. Random other bugmails also contained https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/ references, while others contained https://bugzilla.suse.com/ references. Apparently the difference was according to whether https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/ or https://bugzilla.suse.com/ was used to trigger the particular bugmail. Since the upgrade, every bugmail has contained only a https://bugzilla.suse.com/ URI. They can't work here, because I don't allow multiple bugzilla*suse URIs to clutter my heavily relied upon browser history:
# grep suse.com /etc/hosts
0.0.0.0 bugzilla.suse.com
#

Requested solution: see Original Summary above.

I know once upon a time many moons ago, in some bugzilla instance, possibly this one, I requested bugmail to contain two links for added comments, one to the root, and one directly to the comment. That request was granted, so I'm sure it should be possible to provide both suse.com and opensuse.org URIs in each bugmail.

This is also an openSUSE public identity issue. References to suse.com used in email and forums and blogs muddy the distinction between SLE and openSUSE.

I was hoping the bug 1210546 fix would fix this, but it's not looking good. I'm still getting only BSC links in bugmail since its reputed fix.
