Description Zombie Ryushu 2023-06-16 02:48:53 UTC
Upon upgrading to OpenSuse 15.5, Samba AD DC functionality stopped working. I upgraded a Domain Controller from 15.4 to OpenSuse 15.5 and Samba 4 stopped accepting Domain logins for AD. Or launching completely.

The Build of Samba 4.17 included has AD DC Compiled out, like Fedora does. To get AD DC Support back, I had to install a Secondary Repo for AD DC to 4.18.3. Then AD DC Resumed normal operation.

samba-ad-dc was removed from SLE 15 SP5 on purpose.

There are builds available
here:
https://build.opensuse.org/project/show/network:samba:ADDC#tab-pane-inherited-packages

or you can use tumbleweed where it is still enabled

Note: SLE 15 SP5 AND Leap 15.5 share the codebase
