[doc] Issue in "SUPPORTED SCENARIOS FOR HADR PROVIDER HOOK SCRIPTS"
Last modified: 2024-01-12 00:10:29 UTC
SUPPORTED SCENARIOS FOR HADR PROVIDER HOOK SCRIPTS: https://documentation.suse.com/sles-sap/sap-ha-support/single-html/sap-ha-support/#table-sap-ha-solutions-sap-hana-hook-scripts Tablular for the SAPHanaSR Hooks should be revised. a) SAPHanaSR.py (Scale-Out) is needed for ALL SAP HANA versions which did not provide a SITE Name of the changing SR status. If I remember correctly thia is all versions before SAP HANA 2.0 SPS03 (will review that in the SAP docu); so SAP HANA 1.0 is not correct here ot at least misleading. b) we should split Scale-Out into "with SAP HANA auto host failover" and "without SAP HANA auto host failover" That is more scanario centered and makes it easier to catch the correct option.
Thanks Fabian, I'll look into it.
If needed we could also communicate via E-Mail or via teams about the details.
Hi Fabian, sorry for the delay here. (In reply to Fabian Herschel from comment #0) > a) SAPHanaSR.py (Scale-Out) is needed for ALL SAP HANA versions which did not > provide a SITE Name of the changing SR status. If I remember correctly > thia is > all versions before SAP HANA 2.0 SPS03 (will review that in the SAP > docu); so > SAP HANA 1.0 is not correct here ot at least misleading. IIUC, for this I just need to change "Legacy (mandatory for SAP HANA 1.0)" to "Legacy (mandatory for SAP HANA 1.0 and SAP HANA 2.0 SPS02 and earlier)"? > b) we should split Scale-Out into "with SAP HANA auto host failover" and > "without SAP HANA auto host failover" That is more scanario centered and > makes it easier to catch the correct option. Splitting Scale-Out into two columns is easy enough. For each column, what would the entries for each row need to be?

Or maybe this is better: "Mandatory for all versions before SAP HANA 2.0 SPS03"

Hi Tahlia, is this still open? Regards, Lars

I still need the following info: (In reply to Tahlia Richardson from comment #3) ... > > b) we should split Scale-Out into "with SAP HANA auto host failover" and > > "without SAP HANA auto host failover" That is more scanario centered and > > makes it easier to catch the correct option. > > Splitting Scale-Out into two columns is easy enough.
