SMPlayer won't play any video if you start it in Plasma Wayland session. "Wayland support" checkbox is checked in SMPlayer's settings.
When I open a video in SMPlayer there is sound, but no picture. Switching acceleration and output plug-in has no effect.

The same video plays fine if I open it in MPV directly.

OS: Leap 15.5
SMPlayer: 22.7.0-bp155.1.13
MPV: 0.34.0+git.20211101T154439.9ca9066d05-bp155.3.14

Apparently, the MPV package does not have support for Wayland, because wayland-protocols was not found at build time:
