Description Michal Svec 2023-08-16 07:44:34 UTC
Dell 7430 notebook seems to have issues with sleep. It seemingly goes
to sleep but wakes up after a few seconds.

Comment 3 Michal Svec 2023-08-16 07:47:57 UTC
Oh, interestingly, if I unplug the dock (Dell Dock WD15), the notebook
goes to sleep just fine. And if I plug it in while sleeping it wakes up
fine again.

So it seems when the dock is connected some device related to the dock
prevents the sleep from working.

Or might it be with or without the power? What if you plug AC cable?

Also, please check whether it's a kernel regression.
Please test with Leap 15.5 GM kernel and Leap 15.4 kernel.
Comment 5 Michal Svec 2023-08-16 11:45:36 UTC
I believe it was a problem also before. Though I was running 6.1 for
quite a bit (due to bsc#1206224).

And BTW, it's not always the case. Right now it went to sleep just fine
and has stayed there...

The last messages in the log in comment 2 are from i915 and r8152 drivers.
Are those always appear at suspend? I wonder whether "carrier on" message is normal, or it implies some wake up from there.
