[doc] Issue in "Overview of SAP HANA system replication"
Last modified: 2023-09-20 00:39:10 UTC
Overview of SAP HANA system replication: https://documentation.suse.com/sles-sap/sap-ha-support/html/sap-ha-support/index.html#sap-ha-solutions-sap-hana-overview Via email from Sherry Yu: ----- HANA Native Storage Extension (NSE) *without* HANA Extension Node is supported in HA Solutions for automated HANA System Replication in Scale-Up and Scale-Out, respectively. HANA NSE with HANA Extension Node is not tested thus not supported by SUSE HA. Please refer to SAP documentation for details of HANA NSE and its functional restrictions. ----- @Tahlia Richardson once Lars and Fabian approve the statement, please add it below the paragraph “You can use SAP HANA Fast Restart on RAM-tmpfs and SAP HANA on persistent memory if they are transparent to the High Availability cluster.”
From Lars Pinne: would you mind changing the text a little? We already know that HANA Extension Nodes are not working with current SAPHanaSR and SAPHanaSR-ScaleOut. So, the text might be: ----- SAP HANA Native Storage Extension (NSE) is supported in HA Solutions for automated HANA System Replication in Scale-Up and Scale-Out, respectively. Important is that this feature does not change the HANA topology or interfaces to SUSE HA. Please refer to SAP documentation for details of HANA NSE and its functional restrictions. In opposite to Native Storage Extension, the HANA Extension Nodes are changing the topology and thus currently are not supported by SUSE HA. -----
