Bugzilla – Bug 1215384
xdg-terminal broken because kreadconfig is not found (2023)
Last modified: 2023-09-21 08:35:02 UTC
When I use xdg-terminal from a script it fails because kreadconfig is not found. Obviously until recently there must have been a symlink of kreadconfig5 to kreadconfig so it worked, and now it fails. Would it be possible to add this symlink again to those kde-plasma applications? Seems KDE is very good at breaking existing packages by ever renaming their executables.
https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/1108355 dropped the patch and mentions it was fixed upstream. What does `rpm -qv xdg-utils` return?

FTR: > Seems KDE is very good at breaking existing packages by ever renaming their executables. This was broken by a change in xdg-utils. kreadconfigX didn't get renamed. There will be kreadconfig6 soon, but FWICT xdg-utils already supports this.
