Bugzilla – Bug 1215398
Check for changing from "speed up" to "enable" on Setting up SAP HANA HA/DR providers
Last modified: 2023-11-02 10:27:39 UTC
Hello Team, It seems if you do not configure the hook the cluster will not failover, so I would like to suggest to double check a properly way to define. Here is the customer feedback about our doc "Kinda misleading: “speed up failover” should be worded “enable failover” IMHO, from what you state. I recall seeing that but disregarding it because of that wording…." Optionally, a third hook is called by SAP HANA when a service status changes. This method can be used to speed up the takeover in case the indexserver process fails. This HA/DR provider method is srServiceStateChanged(), the related SUSE hook script is susChkSrv.py. For installation details, refer to manual page susChkSrv.py(7). https://documentation.suse.com/sbp/all/single-html/SLES4SAP-hana-sr-guide-costopt-15/#cha.s4s.hana-hook
Hi Thiago, many thanks for the bug report! Somehow this ended up with the wrong assignee. As it is about a SUSE Best Practice Guide, let me reassign to Meike to discuss with the authors of the respective guide.
