Description Michael Traxler 2023-10-06 10:10:38 UTC
Hello,

the mumble package needs to be updated for usage of the
libPocoFoundation.so.94, which is now standard in tumbleweed.
The current package still asks for libPocoFoundation.so.92 which is not existing anymore.

$ zypper in mumble
Problem: nothing provides 'libPocoFoundation.so.92()(64bit)' needed by the to be installed mumble-1.5.517-190.15.x86_64
Solution 1: do not install mumble-1.5.517-190.15.x86_64
Solution 2: break mumble-1.5.517-190.15.x86_64 by ignoring some of its dependencies

Mumble is broken and doesn't build on Tumbleweed. Additionally it is not available in official repositories for Tumbleweed.

Broken build from Games repo:
https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/games%3Atools/mumble
Comment 2 Andreas Stieger 2023-10-06 17:39:10 UTC
It was dropped https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/1104792
and now simply no longer builds from source. The libPoco thing is a red herring

That is a real pitty! This software is really needed.
What can I do to get in included again in the distribution?
Comment 4 Andreas Stieger 2023-10-20 14:00:50 UTC
You could submit a fixed build
Comment 5 Marguerite Su 2023-10-28 02:26:09 UTC
1. SR#1215996 accepted and the package works now for Tumbleweed.
2. I am not a regular maintainer for mumble, I didn't even use this package once. so please do not consider me as a bug owner.
3. the truth that I fixed the package does not mean I am highly interested in this package. so I will not feel responsible to submit it to Factory again.
4. anyone interested should step in and take over the after works.

thanks

Dear Marguerite,

thank you so much for your work and fixing this package!
I don't have the necessary knowledge to maintain this package.
But it is used by many and in their name I say:
Thanks again!

Michael
