## Test steps: 1) We first created qcow file by scc by job https://openqa.suse.de/tests/12423401 with iso SLE-15-SP3-Online-x86_64-GM-Media1.iso by SCC and generated qcow file with kernel 5.3.18-150300.59.106 https://openqa.suse.de/tests/12423401 2) boot from the upper qcow file and do patch_sle with ltss addon, which resulted kernel updated to 5.3.18-150300.59.133 3) reboot and system panic "Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0)" https://openqa.suse.de/tests/12423445#step/patch_sle/79 ## error message: ~~ [ 1.068152] PM: Magic number: 11:807:975 [ 1.069483] List of all partitions: [ 1.070672] No filesystem could mount root, tried: [ 1.070673] [ 1.072898] Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0) [ 1.074839] CPU: 0 PID: 1 Comm: swapper/0 Not tainted 5.3.18-150300.59.133-default #1 SLE15-SP3 [ 1.076841] Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (i440FX + PIIX, 1996), BIOS rel-1.16.0-0-gd239552c-rebuilt.opensuse.org 04/01/2014 [ 1.079893] Call Trace: [ 1.080895] dump_stack+0x66/0x8b [ 1.082027] panic+0xfe/0x2e3 [ 1.083075] mount_block_root+0x277/0x2df [ 1.084283] ? set_debug_rodata+0x11/0x11 [ 1.085480] prepare_namespace+0x130/0x166 [ 1.086747] kernel_init_freeable+0x273/0x29f [ 1.087993] ? rest_init+0xb0/0xb0 [ 1.089083] kernel_init+0xa/0x110 [ 1.090175] ret_from_fork+0x35/0x40 [ 1.091309] Kernel Offset: 0x2200000 from 0xffffffff81000000 (relocation range: 0xffffffff80000000-0xffffffffbfffffff) [ 1.094087] ---[ end Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0) ]--- ~~ ## Observation openQA test in scenario sle-15-SP3-Server-DVD-Updates-x86_64-sle_support_image_gnome_15sp3_basesys-srv-ltss-desk-dev_all_patterns_dev@64bit fails in [patch_sle](https://openqa.suse.de/tests/12423445/modules/patch_sle/steps/79) ## Test suite description The base test suite is used for job templates defined in YAML documents. It has no settings of its own. ## Reproducible Fails since (at least) Build [GM](https://openqa.suse.de/tests/12331542) ## Further details if we use an old kernel 5.3.18-59.37-default to 5.3.18-150300.59.133-default, it will pass with the same settings https://openqa.suse.de/tests/12439237/
