Description obermeier 2023-10-17 07:41:56 UTC
After installation with a 202204?? version of Tumbleweed without activating the online repositories the system is booting up normally.
Doing updates/Upgrades has created that error: SGX disabled by BIOS The boot process stops there. The same error with the activated online repositories during installation.
I need help please

The SGX error message is likely a red herring. The message itself has been there for ages.

Please try to boot the previous kernel and confirm whether it still boots or not. If it boots, and a new kernel doesn't, it's a kernel regression. Please get the hwinfo output and the dmesg output from the working case.

You booted a pretty old kernel. Can you try any newer one?
You can find kernels in my OBS projects, e.g. home:tiwai:kernel:6.4, etc.

Also, check whether the problem persists with the very latest 6.6 kernel in OBS Kernel:stable repo, too.
Comment 5 obermeier 2023-11-06 08:40:13 UTC
I reinstalled the system with kernel-default 6.5.9 and it starts up without error.

Then let's close now :)
