Description Filip Kadlec 2023-10-27 09:30:47 UTC
In Okular, I am used to view several files in tabs of the same window (Configure Okular... General Options |Open new files in tabs). For an unclear reason, this has stopped working; when I Open a second file, it replaces the first one in the view and no new tab is opened.

The workaround consists in unchecking the option, then quitting Okular. Upon next launch of Okular, when the option is re-checked, the expected behavior is recovered.

Did you already test with a fresh user as this sounds like a broken user profile. Okular on latest Tumbleweed snapshot opens different PDFs in tabs flawlessly here.

I did, with a new user profile there is no problem ... at the beginning. I suspect that the profile breaks after some customization (I changed some keyboard shortcuts, menu icons appearance, and annotations parameters). So, yes, creating a fresh user profile is another workaround, but not very handy...

If you have a way to reproduce reliably, please submit a bug report upstream (https://bugs.kde.org) and attach ~/.config/okularrc before the issue appears and after

For now, I have no clue about which actions have led to the tabs deactivation.
