This error got fixed in cups-filters 1.22.2 and it occurs on OpenSuSE 15.4 in conjunction with SLES-15 SP4 Printing Servers that control Network Printers via socket:... again. cups-filters is up to 1.28.

Both partners OpenSuSE 15.4 Clients and SLES-15 SP4 Servers have IP connections thru http Port 631 but printing orders don't receive the server as recipiant. Sometimes ghostlike files occur in /var/spool/cups/ for a second without correct names c.... and d... and sometimes only controlfiles occur without related datafiles. Restarting and reconfiguring cups and cups-filters didn't help in this case. IT#s not possible to send a job to the server
Comment 1 Johannes Meixner 2024-01-24 13:32:55 UTC
This is the duplicated upstream issues
https://github.com/OpenPrinting/cups-filters/issues/97
and
https://github.com/OpenPrinting/cups-filters/issues/357
and
https://github.com/OpenPrinting/cups-filters/issues/429
where the latter redirects to
https://github.com/OpenPrinting/cups-browsed/issues/23

We (i.e. SUSE) neither develop cups-filters nor cups-browsed
so we cannot actually help in this very complicated case.

According to
https://bugzilla.suse.com/page.cgi?id=status_resolution_matrix.html
I can only close this bug report as "UPSTREAM".

Please get in contact with cups-filters upstream at
