Bugzilla – Bug 1218461
Missing bluetooth support for MediaTek MT7922 (0489:e0f2)
Last modified: 2024-01-18 20:30:11 UTC
I have a HP Envy x360 laptop with a MediaTek 7922 network chip, with integrated Foxconn bluetooth chip 0489:e0f2. BTW, the corresponding wlan chip works fine with the mt7921e driver. When booting Leap 15.5, I get "Bluetooth: hci0: Opcode 0x c03 failed: -110". I found https://patchwork.kernel.org/project/bluetooth/patch/20221215021854.1429-1-mario.limonciello@amd.com which exactly matches my case. For completeness, here my inxi output: #> inxi -Exxxz Bluetooth: Device-1: Foxconn / Hon Hai Wireless_Device driver: btusb v: 0.8 type: USB rev: 2.1 speed: 480 Mb/s lanes: 1 bus-ID: 1-3:2 chip-ID: 0489:e0f2 class-ID: e001 serial: <filter> Report: bt-adapter ID: hci0 rfk-id: 0 state: down bt-service: enabled, running rfk-block: hardware: no software: yes address: N/A Could this patch be backported to Leap/SLE 15.5 ? Thanks!
I'm building a test kernel with the backport of the given commit. It's being built in OBS home:tiwai:bsc1218461 repo. Once after the build finishes, it'll appear at http://donwload.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/tiwai:/bsc1218461/pool/ Please give it a try later.
I booted into g34b09ab, bluetooth works, as expected. Thanks!
