Description Jean-Daniel Dodin 2005-10-09 14:54:17 UTC
I made an update from RC1 to final 10.0.

after checking the system, yast proposes a config.

in this config, the apps choice is the one initially selected on the first
install (I think), in my case "graphics with kde".

But the options in the checking boxes are "install the default apps" and "delete
all apps not on default config" (I use french install, so the wording may be
different).

the net result is to install all the things I had deleted because unusefull for
me and the deletion of the stuff I added :-(.

these two options should be unchecked by default, to keep the config as near of
the original one as possible.

I must add that the config had a dependency problem (a red message). This
desapeared when I unchecked the two buttons

please attach /var/log/YaST2/ directory if you still have this system running.

Comment 5 Andreas Jaeger 2005-11-24 10:04:47 UTC
The problem here seems that you had configured "KDE system" but removed packages from it. We should catch this situation and in this case update only the minimal selection and all your packages that you have installed but only add new packages that come in through the minimal selection or through dependencies.
Comment 6 Jiri Srain 2006-03-09 20:38:57 UTC
The update process has been changed and is handled by ZYPP resolver, so I'm closing the bug as FIXED. If problems persist, please, reopen.
