Steps:

- Boot SLES12SP5 image (fresh installed and publish image to openqa assets daily) with default patterns install
- Register the system and live patching extension via SCC
- Fully patch the system
- Reboot and perform offline migration to SLES15SP6 build47.2 via proxySCC
- So far everything is good. Then install package by "zypper in susefirewall2-to-firewalld"

Observed:
No provider of 'susefirewall2-to-firewalld' found

[zypper:req] SolverRequester.cc(install):325 susefirewall2-to-firewalld cap:susefirewall2-to-firewalld not found

Please find the attached zypper.log and openqa result as below:

openQA test in scenario sle-15-SP6-Migration-from-SLE12-SPx-s390x-offline_sles12sp5_pscc_lp_def_full@s390x-kvm fails in
[reconnect_mgmt_console](https://openqa.suse.de/tests/13327973/modules/reconnect_mgmt_console/steps/29)

Expected result:

Install susefirewall2-to-firewalld successfully.

It would be perfect if problematic susefirewall2-firewalld (see bsc#1200861 for an example) would be dropped from 15sp6+, I would appreciate it. But it seems it is not the case, yet:

https://scc.suse.com/packages/?name=SUSE%20Linux%20Enterprise%20Server&version=15.6&arch=x86_64&query=susefirewall2-to-firewalld&module=

Not sure where the problem is. Rado, do you know who should we ask?

We do have this in the media, which is strange.
Matthias, what do you think?
Comment 3 Chenzi Cao 2024-01-30 07:56:41 UTC
This issue happens on 15SP6 build47.2, while not on newer builds like build50.1, it works fine on Build50.1:

No idea. I'm no release manager, not even maintainer of this package. The
package has only one codestream in SLE-15:Update, and if it doesn't fail to
build then I cannot help out here.

The conversion tool was only intended as a starting point when migrating from
SLE-12 to SLE-15. It was never intended to be fully automatic. And time
probably hasn't made this more robust.

I don't know whether dropping it is viable, it depends upon possible
migrations from SLE-12 to the current SLE-15 service pack by customers that
actually use this tool.

So the rpm was just missing from build47.2 system, no? Closing as fixed, if that still occurs or will reoccur, feel free to reopen but please reassign appropriately.

The issue is already fixed, verify here, thanks.
