Description Alexander Usov 2005-10-10 08:50:33 UTC
As it's written above hald segfaults on start if the mouse receiver is plugged
into USB. It happens even with installation cd. The receiver itself is seen by
the system as:

$ lsusb
....
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 046d:c50e Logitech, Inc. MX-1000 Cordless Mouse Receiver

I have tried to plug in a few different mouses instead, and in all other cases
it works fine.

I was not able to obtain a core from hald, however I am going to attach an
output of "hald --daemon=no --verbose=yes"

Comment 2 Alexander Usov 2005-10-12 12:06:07 UTC
It appears that the whole problem is due to the incorrect packaging/building
of the hald package.

There was a report
(http://lists.opensuse.org/archive/opensuse/2005-Oct/1101.html)
that simply rebuilding the hald package solves the problem with
missing hald-addon-usb-csr.
Comment 3 Kay Sievers 2005-10-12 12:10:47 UTC
Sure, that bug is known for a long time, but we didn't find it until now.
If a addon fails to load, hald segfaults sometimes.
Comment 4 Danny Al-Gaaf 2005-10-13 12:23:11 UTC
I submit a new package for YOU update with the missing addon. But we need also
to fix the problem with crash with missing addons.

Yes close for the problem with missing addon. I open a new bug for the real problem.
