Bugzilla – Bug 1219297
VUL-0: CVE-2023-6200: kernel: ICMPv6 Router Advertisement packets, aka Linux TCP/IP Remote Code Execution Vulnerability
Last modified: 2024-02-02 09:58:08 UTC
A race condition was found in the Linux Kernel. Under certain conditions, an unauthenticated attacker from an adjacent network could send an ICMPv6 router advertisement packet, causing arbitrary code execution. I don't think this affects us in any way. The commit introducing the problem (3dec89b14d37) got merged in 6.6-rc1 and we didn't seem to backport it to our branches. Reassigning back to security team.
not affecting any streams except tumbleweed which gets new kernels
