'task bar' leaves ghost as evident by the ability to 'right-click' desktop and get application menu

plasma 5 desktop (leap 15.5 dup from 15.4) 'task manager' panel set to 'auto hide' leaves an exact 'ghost' of itself on desktop when it 'hides'.
toggling compositor or scrolling (switching) desktops is the Only way to 'repaint' the affected area (get rid of it).
this is beyond annoying.
it was a problem with the first plasma 5 opensuse released with wayland.

changing,
System Settings > display and monitor > compositing > 'keep thumbs' > always
to either never or while window is visible resolved the 'ghost' panels.

this is Not 'fixed'.
not having thumbnails ia a huge disappointment.
'for shown windows' does not work.
this seems to be a issue with your trying to make things work with wayland.
