Bugzilla – Bug 1220235
[Build 57.1] [Wayland] Fail to switch back to English(US) input method from Chinese(Pinyin)
Last modified: 2024-04-16 16:30:08 UTC
Steps: 1. Boot to desktop 2. Install ibus and ibus-pinyin 3. Launch gnome-terminal and execute "echo 'export INPUT_METHOD=ibus' > .i18n " 4. Logout and re-login 5. In gnome-control-center -> Keyboard, add Chinese(Pinyin) to the Input Sources 6. Launch gnome-terminal and switch to the new added input method which is Chinese(Pinyin) by pressing the (Super/ Win) + Space combination 7. Input some Chinese characters (e.g nihao and select 1 to choose 你好) 8. Try to switch back to the default input method by pressing the (Super/ Win) + Space combination Actual Result: Fail to switch to the default input method, and only space characters are inputted. This issue can only be reproduced under Wayland. X11 doesn't have this issue. Hi Grace, why is this a blocker? Does this test block a test entirely after its execution?
Hi Rado, Thanks for reminding me. I didn't mean to set this to Blocker (Actually, I am still curious about this because I can't remember I changed the value of this field when creating this bug). I suspect the default value of the Blocker field was set to Yes by default at the time I created the bug. So, I guess this might be the reason why https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1220352 and https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1220316 are all set to Blocker. (Because I checked the Modified History and double checked with the bug reporter Richard, he and nobody made changes to the Blocker field) Current now, the default value of the Blocker field is '---' now and looks fine.
