Bugzilla – Bug 1222200
Plasma 6 System Tray does not display Qsynth icon.
Last modified: 2024-04-08 17:06:12 UTC
Qsynth tray icon is now invisible in Plasma 6. Was visible in Plasma 5. Icon displays if opening an instance of VLC and then closing VLC. Qsynth icon is then displayed in System Tray. Thinkcentre-M57p:/usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable/apps> find /usr/share/icons -name "*qsynth*" /usr/share/icons/hicolor/32x32/apps/org.rncbc.qsynth.png /usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable/apps/org.rncbc.qsynth.svg /usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable/apps/org.rncbc.qsynth-tray.svg /usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable/apps/qsynth-tray.svg Thinkcentre-M57p:/usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable/apps> -Thanks

AFAICS, the tray icon appears as soon as qsynth receives a midi event
The Qsynth applet icon can be selected to display in the system tray. It no longer does that in Plasma 6 - and leaves a blank space with no icon.
It does display as soon as vkeyboard is used (a midi event) otherwise it leaves that blank space now.
Will be fixed with https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/1164033
Thanks for your help with this.
I am not an advanced user. Will this fix be automatically pulled in with a future zypper dup? Or how will I get this fix for the machine?
The patch is now in openSUSE:Factory. If it didn't yet, the update will appear in one of the next snapshots.
Yes, I see that now. Qsynth applet icon is now displayed in the System Tray. -Thanks
