Description steve drake 2024-04-30 12:12:06 UTC
Extensions includes no option to Enable Desktop Icons. Not in Tweak Tool either. From extensions.gnome.org extensions can be enabled and Desktop Icons NG (Ding) installed with 1st SP6 Beta but this results in an error when performed on the SP6 PublicRC. Setting /org/gnome/desktop/background/enable-desktop-icons with dconf-editor also does not work. But at some point the above actions resulted in an Enable Desktop Icons NG (Ding) entry to appear in Extensions. Enabling this setting worked.

The package gnome-shell-extension-desktop-icons was added in SLE-15-SP6. Install this package, reboot system, then enable extension Desktop Icons NG (Ding).
