[Build 20240511] sddm branding: more issues
Last modified: 2024-05-13 10:57:59 UTC
## Observation Last week, we had the issue that apparently some too many branding packages ended up on the live image (which made openQA complain about upstream branding being present). There were some fixes around that topic - but as a consequence we now see a test (LXQt, using sddm) which results in a unbranded sddm. There seems to be an issue generally of how the branding packages are set up (possibly missing requires/provides/conflicts) See https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Packaging_Branding (just a guess that this is the issue) openQA test in scenario opensuse-Tumbleweed-NET-x86_64-otherDE_lxqt@64bit fails in [reboot_icewm](https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/4181056/modules/reboot_icewm/steps/8) ## Test suite description ## Reproducible Fails since (at least) Build [20240511](https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/4178749) ## Expected result Last good: [20240510](https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/4175686) (or more recent) ## Further details Always latest result in this scenario: [latest](https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/latest?arch=x86_64&distri=opensuse&flavor=NET&machine=64bit&test=otherDE_lxqt&version=Tumbleweed)
What was previously installed was the Plasma(+openSUSE) branding for SDDM. If that should also be chosen for LXQt, it should be mentioned explicitly either in plasma6-workspace as supplement or in the lxqt pattern as requires/recommends.
imho, the sddm-branding-openSUSE has a simple packaging bug: it does not supplement sddm and branding-openSUSE as it should https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/1173584
