Bugzilla – Bug 122558
KNode should use .newsrc like every other newsclient does
Last modified: 2008-06-25 09:52:56 UTC
KNode does not use .newsrc like every other newsclient does. This makes it really hard to use it in a heterogenous environment: once you read your news with KNode, you can never change back to anything else like Thunderbird, slrn, tin, mutt etc. without losing the information about read / unread news. All those other clients use a .newsrc and are configurable about where they expect it to be. This is a real showstopper, preventing me to switch from Thunderbird to KMail / KNode.
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=23601 please reopen when this one has been resolved. BTW - switching to kmail is entirely independent from news ;)
as long as i need thunderbird for news, kmail for mail does not really make much sense :-)
mass reopening all SuSE Linux bugs that are set to REMIND+LATER to change the resolution to WONTFIX (adapting to new policy)
Closing old LATER+REMIND bugs as WONTFIX - if you still plan to work on it, feel free to reopen and set to ASSIGNED. In case the report saw repeated reopen comments, it's due to bugzilla timing out on the huge request ;(
