Description Gunner Gewiß 2024-06-01 10:33:20 UTC
Hello,

the package "7zip" <https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/Archiving/7zip> is listed at <https://software.opensuse.org/package/7zip> as available for Leap 15.5 (OBS: Archiving) — but indeed, it is not (as you can note from <https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/Archiving/7zip>).

Leap 15.6 is not affected, everything OK there.

I myself still use Leap 15.5 (upgrade to 15.6 estimated for later this year…) and I would like to use 7zip and so I am very confused by the offer at software.o.o.

Additional info: this is the only issue of this specific kind I recognised so far. But there are more issues with software.o.o in general (not listing packages for specific builds like Leap or such even when they are officially available!).

Thank you!

The package is available Leap 15.5 on s390x, ppc64le, aarch64. Just not x86_64:

15.5/x86_64
15.5/s390x
 7zip-24.05-archiving.32.1.s390x.rpm
 7zip-24.05-archiving.32.1.src.rpm
 _buildenv
 _statistics
 rpmlint.log
15.5/ppc64le
 7zip-24.05-archiving.32.1.ppc64le.rpm
 7zip-24.05-archiving.32.1.src.rpm
 _buildenv
 _statistics
 rpmlint.log
15.5/aarch64
 7zip-24.05-archiving.32.1.aarch64.rpm
 7zip-24.05-archiving.32.1.src.rpm
 _buildenv
 _statistics
 rpmlint.log

That should clear your confusion. Since you have an upgrade path this is not something we'd like to fix for a Leap 15.5 target in a development project, for a package that itself is not in Leap.

Thank you!

(I more or less got it.)

But for the other issue I opened <https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1225786>.
