Description Martin Jambor 2024-06-03 16:12:36 UTC
GCC 14 newly by default treats as errors a number of situations which
before were only warnings. For more information see
https://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-14/porting_to.html and meta bug #1220571.

Because of this, package newt fails to compile. This can be seen online
at:
https://build.opensuse.org/package/live_build_log/openSUSE:Factory:Staging:Gcc7/newt/standard/x86_64

It can be reproduced locally with command: osc build --clean
--alternative-project home:rguenther:nextgcc

There are Gentoo bugs which look relevant (but do not really look like
addressing the error below): https://bugs.gentoo.org/882713 and
https://bugs.gentoo.org/919426

The (first) error (that halts the build) is:

[   13s] dialogboxes.c: In function ‘gauge’:
[ 13s] dialogboxes.c:133:5: error: implicit declaration of function ‘setlinebuf’; did you mean ‘getline’? [-Wimplicit-function-declaration]
[   13s]   133 |     setlinebuf(f);
[   13s]       |     ^~~~~~~~~~
[   13s]       |     getline

Feature macro definition was missing, I have created https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/1187069 to add it.
