Description Martin Jambor 2024-06-04 16:27:44 UTC
GCC 14 newly by default treats as errors a number of situations which
before were only warnings. For more information see
https://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-14/porting_to.html and meta bug #1220571.

Because of this, package xine-lib fails to compile. This can be seen online
at:
https://build.opensuse.org/package/live_build_log/openSUSE:Factory:Staging:Gcc7/xine-lib/standard/x86_64

It can be reproduced locally with command: osc build --clean
--alternative-project home:rguenther:nextgcc

https://sourceforge.net/p/xine/xine-lib-1.2/merge-requests/2/ may
contain the patches needed to address this.
Comment 1 Martin Jambor 2024-07-15 13:25:41 UTC
I have created https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/1187562 into which I incorporated the patch from https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/xine-lib/c/778d0883383a1e8ee4060b1d8583296812e077d4?branch=rawhide which corresponds to the upstream request referenced at the end of the bug summary.
