After upgrading from Leap 15.5 to Leap 15.6 the printer brother MFC-730 is still able to print, but is no loner recognized as a scanner.
Scan-program: Simple Scan
Driver: linux-brprinter-installer-2.2.4-1
libusb-0_1-4: Installed both versions - libusb-0_1-4 and libusb-0_1-4-32bit

As per bug 1226240, please check if the installation of libnsl1 solves your problem.

Yes. After installing libnsl1 and rebooting the system the scanner is recognized and is able to scan with Simple Scan.
