Description Thorsten Staerk 2005-10-11 21:13:57 UTC
When compiling things on my 3 GHz Hyperthreading machine, I frequently get the
message from kwrited:

 Message from syslogd@kolossus at Tue Oct 11 22:58:29 2005 ...
kolossus kernel: CPU1: Temperature above threshold

 Message from syslogd@kolossus at Tue Oct 11 22:58:29 2005 ...
kolossus kernel: CPU1: Running in modulated clock mode

 Message from syslogd@kolossus at Tue Oct 11 22:58:29 2005 ...
kolossus kernel: CPU0: Running in modulated clock mode

Then, the fans begin to roar. I want to get rid of these messages, because the
the fans start and the temperature will go down.

I am thankful about fürther steps how to set the ldsensors or so.

P.S. I can also test it with your kernel of the day :-) Please advise.
Comment 2 Hubert Mantel 2005-10-12 13:55:06 UTC
Those are no error messages. And it is not a kernel bug. If you don't want to
see certain messages, just configure your syslogd in the way you want it.

hmm... Resolution was to clean my processor's cooling facilities.
