when installing and trying to configurate madiwif wlan-card, kernel module was 
not loaded (ath_pci) and when trying it did not want to be loaded either.

Do you run openSUSE? Then you need to install package kernel-default-nongpl, you can download it from ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/10.0/SUSE-Linux10.0-GM-Extra/ .

this did install it indeed. but, no internet connecting, I can come on local network, but not outside. closed firewall, re-installed nIC, checked resolv.conf, Hostname, still nothing. 
what can be more the cause? or should we open a new item for this
