Bugzilla – Bug 128596
Installing multiple packages at once from different source with YaST2 from KDE
Last modified: 2006-09-14 10:31:26 UTC
I prefer the YaST2 package manager over all the other because of the dependency solving. Unfortunately if I want to install external (non-SuSE) packages with it I´ve to right-click on a file within KDE and then select actions->install with YaST. If I´ve multiple packages I´ve to restart YaST2 for every package. An "install package" menu option which opens a package like it was specified on the command line would be very handy here IMHO. The best thing would be the option to select multiple packages in the file selector.
Sounds reasonable to me. I need help from the KDE-maintainers, though. Please decide what should be done. The yast-part should be taken care of by Jiri.
I guess this is about a missing feature in krpmview
Any news here. It´s very hard to install external packages from within gnome, for example. So please add a menu options "install packages" where I can specify packages on my disk to be installed.
could you have a look at krpmview please?
actually, I'm confused. Do you want this to be handled by YaST, or by GNOME, or by KDE (== krpmview) ?
No answer for four months. Please take a look at openSUSE10.2, and if you stil have problems, open a new bug.
