Description Christian Haertwig 2005-10-18 15:17:03 UTC
I have the problem, that the Master slider in the alsamixer (and every other
mixer i tried) only changes the volume of the two front speakers, but not the
rear/center/lfe. Neither the pcm slider does. I have had a look into the alsa
Wiki where exactly this problem was mentioned. But the solution there was to
upgrade to at least alsa-1.0.0, but i'm currently using alsa-1.0.9 and have
had exactly this problem with many other alsa versions/linux-2.6 kernels
before. Mentioning that problem in the alsa-user mailing list gave me these
replies: http://phpfi.com/82837 (excerpt)

PS: i have already upgraded to SuSE Linux 10.0 but that didnt solve this
problem.

The change was only for Audigy, not for SB live. So, it's still a "feature".

Hopefully it'll be fixed in the future version...
