Bugzilla – Bug 129492
horizontal scrolling in khtml for webpages (still) does not work
Last modified: 2005-12-22 21:02:12 UTC
bug 76565 seem to persist on suse10, see email below. According to the kdelibs3 rpm changelog, it was fixed on 15 august by Dirk Mueller, but I and others don't notice it. https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=76565 http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100558 ---------- Doorgestuurd bericht ---------- Subject: Re: [opensuse] Scroll horizontally by holding down Alt-key does not work Date: donderdag 13 oktober 2005 22:09 From: Carl Hartung <suselinux@cehartung.com> To: opensuse@opensuse.org On Thursday 13 October 2005 15:52, Richard Bos wrote: > are you 100% sure that horizontal scrolling is working for you in konqueror > in case you hold down the "<ALT>" key and use your mouse scroll button? > > It's working that way for me in kpdf, but not in konqueror as described in > the bug report. Just a quick "me too"... not working in Konqueror but working in KMail - Carl Please let me know if you need more information.
bugreport 76565 was about something else: about hardware that has vertical and horizontal scroll wheels. what you're talking about is something entirely different, namely switching scroll direction by pressing <ALT> thats why the fix for #76565 doesn't magically fix your bug.
Ah I see. Hopefully you get this solved as well! BTW, it's not only a problem on suse10, but as I don't have the other versions around (anymore) I reported it for suse10.
well, I can not reproduce your bug report at least.. for me I can switch with horizontal scrolling via ALT-Wheel just fine.
Dirk. just to be sure; are you using kde-3.4.2 on suse-10? Did you try it in konqueror browsing a webpage?
I'm using 10.1 snapshot right now, but the patch in question didn't change a bit. I'll try finding a 10.0 system for testing somewhere..
Dirk, did you find a 10.0 test system? There should be at least 1 in suse ;)
ok, reproduced on 10.0, fixed for 10.1
:) You are forcing me to upgrade to 10.1... Just curious: was it an obvious bug, or one that was hard to find?
I just installed KDE 3.5 (on SUSE 10.0) - scrolling works perfectly now :-)
