Description Michael Stather 2005-10-22 17:37:40 UTC
I downloaded the .iso files but there´s a problem with iso 3.
I burned it several times but when I try to verify it in the installer it hangs
at 65%. I get many I/O errors in the kernel log, and even if I cancel the
verification the cd drive doesn´t stop reading form the CD until I restart my
system.
I downloaded the iso several times and burned it several times and the error was
always the same so I guess perhaps there´s something wrong with the iso file.
The other isos are fine. When I try to burn it with k3b, if I enable
verification there´s also an error every time.

Did you use rewritable medium (CD-RW)? Did you try another medium?

To check the downloaded ISO you can use the checkmedia utility (use 'checkmedia *.iso' command).

I checked it again and it was a problem with data corruption by my proxy server.
Sorry for reporting this.

Closing then.

I experienced this again and I checked the MD5 of the iso this time.
I also tested several burners (which work absolutely flawless with other images).
I burn them with "CDBurnerXP" under Windows, do you need a special program to burn them?
Comment 5 Andreas Jaeger 2006-03-24 08:36:05 UTC
You need to burn them as ISO files.
