Description Jan Engelhardt 2005-10-22 17:40:44 UTC
Open xv with some dummy files and delete them one after another. Click "Delete",
use (Delete)"List Entry". Do it a second time. When the delete dialog is
supposed to disappear, it is instead filled with solid black and remains there.
You cannot click it away or open up another delete dialog.

This goes for many dialogs and all answers to dialogs, including the xv main
panel itself. (Let it appear & disappear twice or thrice and see.)

I can not verify this. Without reproducing it I'm not able to fix this.
Comment 3 Dr. Werner Fink 2005-10-25 09:39:59 UTC
Jan? Please provide me _more_ information. Anything else is WORKSFORME.
Comment 4 Jan Engelhardt 2005-10-25 10:16:18 UTC
Strange things.

- xv works correctly on a 9.3
- X11-forwarded xv running on 9.3 displaying on a 10.0 does not work
- xv running on 10.0 displaying on a 10.0 does not work (comment #1)

So it looks like an xserver+xv issue in 10.0 rather than just xv. I have not experienced this black thing with other apps.

What other info could you need?

IMHO this is a problem with the window manager. This because on
10.0 it works with fvwm2. Which window manager do you use?
Comment 6 Jan Engelhardt 2005-10-25 11:22:04 UTC
IceWM 1.2.22.

It works with fvwm2 from SUSE 10, or icewm 1.2.19 from SUSE 9.3.
Comment 7 Dr. Werner Fink 2005-10-25 11:28:57 UTC
Pavel? What is new in IceWM 1.2.22 in comparision to 1.2.19?
Comment 8 Pavel Nemec 2005-10-25 14:19:52 UTC
Changes are in /usr/share/doc/packages/icewm-1.2.22/CHANGES
I didn`t find anything suspicious.
Reproduce it on Suse 10 icewm 1.2.22.
Comment 14 Dr. Werner Fink 2005-10-28 15:43:40 UTC
At least it seems that XUnmapWindow() does not work with ICEWM.
Comment 15 Pavel Nemec 2005-11-01 11:16:09 UTC
Hmm this bug is already reported on icwm site.
[ 1245311 ] xv window get's black instead of closed
It look like that it is fixed in cvs version, i am testing it now.
Comment 16 Jan Engelhardt 2006-08-25 09:21:12 UTC
Fixed in icewm 1.2.23.
