Bugzilla – Bug 130208
Installer unable to detect correct screen resolution
Last modified: 2005-10-26 08:38:16 UTC
Installer sets screen resolution to 1024x768 while my laptop has 1440x900. Alpha1 detected it correctly.
Can you please attach the output of hwinfo and the /var/log/YaST2 directory (as a tar file)? Please take a look at http://www.opensuse.org/Bug_Reporting_FAQ#YaST if you have any questions about this.
the output of hwinfo --monitor is needed here. Thanks

your monitor couldn't be detected by libhd. That's why the framebuffer resolution is used. I think this can only be solved if libhd includes the bios information on it's blacklist and set a hardcoded resolution 56: None 00.0: 10000 Monitor [Created at fb.70] Unique ID: rdCR.EY_qmtb9YY0 Hardware Class: monitor Model: "Generic Monitor" Vendor: "Generic" Device: "Monitor" Resolution: 1024x768@76Hz Driver Info #0: Max.
