Description Daniel Mandler 2005-10-24 11:05:12 UTC
yast did not resolve dependencies between nvidia-driver AND kernel-sources, gcc,
make... that takes me days to find out. neither the nvidia-script or yast
complained any error, althou the driver nvidia-never really starts...

Please have a look at
http://www.opensuse.org/Submit_a_bug#Reporting_a_Bug

All SUSE Linux OSS bugs should go into the product SUSE LINUX 10.0 or
newer, because SUSE Linux is based on the SUSE Linux OSS code base.
Always choose the right product when reporting a bug

There is no need to compile the nvidia kernel module.

Comment 3 Daniel Mandler 2005-10-25 15:45:12 UTC
the description in that howto is wrong. YOU did something, but it does NOT start the nvidia-driver. that works in suse 9.2 but not in 10.0.

and for using the nvidia-script gcc/make/kernel-sources are needed, which is not resolved by YOU/YAST whatever...

bye

Sorry, but YOU works for me. When it doesn't for you - for whatever reasons - read the HOWTO, which mentions that you need to install gcc and make before.
