This was observed on ia64.

xalan-j2-javadoc-2.6.0-2
fails to install during initial installation.

The log show the %post scriptlet trying to run 'rm' and 'ln' at the time
of the failure.  These commands fail.

Could it be that xalan-j2-javadoc has missing pre-reqs?

Note that I installed more than the 'default' so this may be why it wasn't
seen before.

Yes, there must be a missing
PreReq: coreutils
in the package which you have and this is already fixed
but there is probably no update package available because of this.
