Bugzilla – Bug 131842
Create a "Send to KMail" link in the contextual menu of KDE
Last modified: 2008-06-25 09:53:01 UTC
I know maybe it's a little bit too Window$ish but I still think it would be a good idea to add a "Send to KMail" link in the contextual menu of KDE. It's always faster then 1. Open Kmail 2. Click on "New Email 3. Go to "Join-> Join a file" 4. Browse to the file 5. Attach
I assume you mean in the konqueror context menu. If so, this would be easy to add (via the kuick plugin). A good way to get this done would be as a KDE junior job. If you report this at bugs.kde.org, product: konqueror, component: kuick, I will supply the necessary info there for a newbie KDE coder to implement this.
Not exclusively in the Konqueror context. I was first thinking of a file stored on the Desktop, but I don't think there is a huge difference between the 2 context ? Instead of adding a new entry in the context menu like "Send to", maybe it would be best to add an new entry in the already existing "Copy to" context menu. I guess it would be called KMail :-) Do you still want me to post this to KDE ? Sheers effco
You are right - the desktop is just a specialised Konqueror file manager view, change one and you change the other. I also meant adding to the Copy to menu. I would be tempted to rename the menu in the next major KDE version so that it becomes Copy/Send to folder... as email attachment via messenger Please do submit this as a wishlist at bugs.kde.org.

let's see what upstream makes out of it
mass reopening all SuSE Linux bugs that are set to REMIND+LATER to change the resolution to WONTFIX (adapting to new policy)
Closing old LATER+REMIND bugs as WONTFIX - if you still plan to work on it, feel free to reopen and set to ASSIGNED. In case the report saw repeated reopen comments, it's due to bugzilla timing out on the huge request ;(
