Description Werner Knapen 2005-11-06 21:30:29 UTC
It is not possible to set the correct controller i/o driver param in Yast. Correct settings according to the bios of the Tecra 8000 notebook are:
		PNP 0
		wss i/o 530
		sbpro i/o	220
		synth i/o	388
		wss...irq	5
		wss dma (dma1)	1
		wss sb dma (dma2)	1
		contr. i/o	538
		mpu i/o 330
Contr. i/o adress 538 is not possible to set by manual. In Suse 9.0 it was possible and sound worked fine. In Yast possible i/o is in Suse OSS 10.0:
     f86
     370
     100
Is there a work-around?

Please always select the right component, openSUSE is for the wiki at opensuse.org only.

Which driver is used for the card? Please, attach ylog and 'hwinfo --sound' output (see http://www.opensuse.org/Bug_Reporting_FAQ#YaST).

The workaround is simple, there is a textentry just above the combobox selection widget in the dialog. Select the option in the table, write address of the port there and press 'Set' button.

Comment 7 Takashi Iwai 2005-11-14 17:08:04 UTC
The latest version of opl3sa2 driver supports PnP BIOS. So, basically, you don't have to set any options. See #116586.
Comment 8 Ladislav Slezák 2005-11-21 08:46:00 UTC
Anyway, address 0x538 has been added into the database.

Fixed in yast2-sound-2.13.1
