Bugzilla – Bug 132965
TOSHIBA TECRA S1 sound card worked under 9.3 but not under 10.0
Last modified: 2006-01-02 12:07:14 UTC
I can delete the automatically recognized configuration in YaST2 and then edit it to configure again. Thereby the sound card works, but the system has problems to shutdown correctly, it hangs and the sound card config is lost the next time the system is started. 82801DB/DBL/DBM (ICH4/ICH4-L/ICH4-M) AC'97 Audio Controller Configured as sound card number 0 Driver snd-intel8x0 Hope this helps to fix it ... Frank
please attach hwinfo --sound this might be related with bug #130614, you also have see an entry in yast after reboot? The problem with reboot/shutdown: do you have something mounted via nfs/smb?

Frank, could you please answer this: this might be related with bug #130614, you also have see an entry in yast after reboot? The problem with reboot/shutdown: do you have something mounted via nfs/smb?
1) I don't get any output when I perform (*) after the sound has been configured to work with yast : (*) grep snd /etc/sysconfig/hardware/hwcfg-* # ls /etc/sysconfig/hardware/hwcfg-* /etc/sysconfig/hardware/hwcfg-bus-pci-0000:02:08.0 /etc/sysconfig/hardware/hwcfg-static-printer /etc/sysconfig/hardware/hwcfg-disk-id-SATA_DW-224 /etc/sysconfig/hardware/hwcfg-vpid-32902-13121 /etc/sysconfig/hardware/hwcfg-disk-id-SATA_TOSHIBA_MK4025GAS_94KO2055 /etc/sysconfig/hardware/hwcfg-vpid-32902-9420 /etc/sysconfig/hardware/hwcfg-disk-id-SATA_TOSHIBA_MK4025GAS_94KO2055T 2) I don't have anything mounted under NFS or smb. And the problem seems only to apear when I changed the sound configuration via YaST2
Hwcfg file for the sound card is missing. Please, attach y2log (see http://www.opensuse.org/Bug_Reporting_FAQ#YaST)
Created attachment 57203 [details] save_y2logs output output created after I configured the sound cart, which then worked. Would you like to get one output after the sytem has rebooted as well, i.e. when sound does not work any more?
FYI: the sound is working now ! Two things may cause it. 1) I did continous update, but I can't remember which update might have cause a change - sorry. 2) I persive that it is rather related to the WLAN. I realized that when I activated the WLAN since the end of November the sound had problems and could not be activated parallel when the WLAN was working. Currently I am not using the WLAN and have no problems with the audio system. Regards, Frank Weber
OK, marked as WORKSFORME.
