Bugzilla – Bug 133095
Wireless network connection failure during boot causes problems with usb drives.
Last modified: 2006-02-07 17:14:05 UTC
If I set my computer up to access the wireless network at my home and then turn on the computer at work (or any place where the wireless connection will fail) then I have problems with usb drives not showing up in the my computer folder. Suseplugger does not open the usual dialog box either. The drives do get mounted under /media but no icons show up in "My Computer". If I remnove the wireless configuration in yast and reboot or if I reboot at home where the wireless connection will work then everything works as it should.
I have no idea what is going on here. Does 'rcnetwork stop' help also? Do you get any related messages (e.g. in /var/log/messages)? Coolo, any idea?
no. If there are no icons in "My computer" it basically means, kded didn't notice the added signal. Would be interesting if lshal --monitor sees them
