Description Roland Kaeser 2005-11-10 21:29:46 UTC
I just made a system update on SuSE 10 using the Yast system update. After a restart of the X the german umlauts key (äöü) and the switch to the text console are not longer avialable on the system. Also all additional tools to set the xkb keyboard layout are not longer avialable. Not on sax and not on KDE.

Hey guys whats going on? We planned a Linux Installation Party for Novmber, 30 to install SuSE 10 on the desktop of a lot of interested people. What should I tell them? Sorry but your german text keys are not avialable on Linux?
THAT CANNOT BE THE WAY!!
Please test Your packages before they are been published. If this problem is not solved until next week we have to install mandriva or ubuntu.

I'm afraid you did try something which cannot work and is completely unsuported. AFAIK you canno update your system when still runnig it. But the YaST guys know better than me.
