Bugzilla – Bug 133572
Install hangs on Toshiba Tecra laptop
Last modified: 2005-11-14 14:12:13 UTC
I'm installing on my Toshiba Tecra 9000, and the install hangs at the "Hardware Configuration" page (just after downloading release notes and checking for updates). I switched to a VT, and guessed which process might be the problem. I killed "/usr/bin/perl /usr/share/sax/init.pl --quiet no" Once I did this and switched back to the GUI install, I see a dialog: "External VGA not supported with this NoteBook [OK} " Now I can continue, but this page is blank. I'm unable to view configuration for graphics cards, printers, sound, tv cards, bluetooth, ... After finishing the install, I don't have a working X server. Could be related to 132676

Marcus, we already had similar problem caused by some of the SaX package missing...
This has already been fixed but not in the alpha releases. These versions are really broken ;)
